One week to go

Mom is officially showing up one week from today (less than that, I suppose, since it's now technically Sunday morning). We've made good progress, but we have a busy week ahead of us. Last night and today we painted - as you can see by the blue kitchen wall and the green wall in the bathroom.


The blue isn't that bright - I promise. The flash just makes it look that way. We've also got the ceilings and the rest of the walls painted.

If all goes well, tomorrow after church we will paint all the trim, scrape down the floor and lay the flooring. If we manage to get all of that done tomorrow night, Monday night we will move on to installing the cabinets (which will cover most of that blue wall anyway), minus the pantry cabinet that we are still looking for. Perhaps we should see if they have it at the Lowe's in South Boston - mom could bring it with her. ;) Then it's installing the door for the pantry and arranging the delivery date for the new washer and dryer. And about a dozen other "small" tasks.

We just need to make sure we end up with at least one night to clean - since this is what mom's bedroom currently looks like! Not to mention the fact that we have tracked drywall dust all over the place.
